Date: 2005-10-13 04:02 am (UTC)Don't change Valya's regular schedule on our account: our kids will most likely nap in the car anyway and then Dany will take another nap around 3 or 4 p.m. He doesn't mind sleeping in the stroller, so we don't need to be indoors by then.
Looks like the best bet would be to leave a bit later, have lunch somewhere on the road, and get to your place by 2pm.
Anything specific you want us to bring from Chicago? :))

Date: 2005-10-13 04:09 am (UTC)If the construction zone on 80/94 gets too crowded, you can take 394 South, it is a newly constructed highway and it runs beautifully. Then you have to take I-30 East to get to I-65, and it has a lot of stop lights, but at least you are not stuck in traffic.
If not, why don't you shoot for 1 PM? That way, there is a good chance that Valya will be close to her waking time and, if not, it will give Natasha and Danik time to get used to the new space. :-) We have some toys downstairs.
Hmmm... from Chicago... something Russian in a can would be nice (you know, pickled mushrooms etc), or else good Russian or Polish sausage. :-) We have a dearth of Slavic stores here.

We also have a pumpkin-carving set. I bet Valya and Natasha will enjoy it a ton - we can have them use plastic knives. :-) I also have some window decorations we can hang up together. :-)
But what about Danik? Do you think he'll enjoy it, or will it only frustrate him? Also, what about you guys? I think this qualifies as toddler crafts, so it's nice to do, but you may prefer something else, and that's OK - just let me know.
Also, perhaps you have a philosophical objection to Halloween, lots of people in Indiana do - we are pretty fundamentalist Christian down here, but sometimes others object also. Please let me know if that is the case.
If we have a halloween celebration somewhere in town or a little outside of town (like a farm with a petting zoo of farm animals, pumpkins, corn maze, etc), would you like to go?
Also, I should warn you that I am on call for a birth this weekend. At this point, there is no reason to think that the baby will be born imminently (mom made no progress in dialation/effacement between last Thursday and today), but of course we never know. Just in case, what is your cell phone, so that I can turn you around if necessary on Saturday morning?
